City Sanitary Service: A Legacy of Over 40 Years
City Sanitary Service has been a trusted name in waste management for over 40 years. The journey began in 1984 when Ken and Kathy Ihrke moved to the Walker area and purchased the business from Tom and Lynn Lemay. Over the years, their sons, Dan, Chad, and Donny, worked together in the family-run business. Eventually, Donny pursued a different career, while Dan and Chad continued working with City Sanitary Service.
In 2001, when Ken and Kathy were ready to retire, their son Dan and his wife, Michele, took over the business. After five years of success, Dan and Michele expanded their reach by acquiring LaVallee Sanitation in Longville. Today, their services cover a wide area, including Akeley, Backus, Guthrie, Hackensack, Lake George, Laporte, Longville, Nevis, and Walker.
